Demo of new O-band Wavelength Tunable Laser at Photonics West

This January, we’re bringing a live demo of our new 1310 nm wavelength tunable laser to PIC Summit USA in Sunnyvale and Photonics West 2026.

Over the past months, conversations with customers and partners have highlighted a strong market need for a widely tunable, narrow-linewidth O-band laser. In response, the Chilas engineering team started to work hard to bring such a module to life. The developing process is now nearing completion, with the first demonstrators successfully tested. One of these units will debut in California, presented by our, CTO Dimitri Geskus.

Where to see the Demo

PIC Summit USA – Sunnyvale | January 19, 2026

Chilas will present the 1310 nm demonstrator on the networking floor.

Photonics West – San Francisco | January 20-22, 2026

The demo will be hosted at the LioniX International booth, our silicon nitride PIC partner. The new laser is built on hybrid photonic integration, combining a TriPleX® silicon nitride passive chip with an indium phosphide gain chip in an external-cavity configuration. For this development, the InP chip was supplied by Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI.

Our CTO, Dimitri Geskus will also be available for on-site explanations and technical discussions. To book a dedicated time slot, please reach out to us as soon as possible.

ATLAS 1310 - O-band Wavelength Tunable Laser

Early Access & Pre-Orders

Chilas is now accepting pre-orders for the first production batch of the 1310 nm laser that will be ready by Q2 2026. Pre-orders placed before or during Photonics West 2026 will receive priority access to receiving the first units produced and will benefit of 15% discount. If you want to secure a unit, make sure to get in contact and pre-order before January 23rd.

More about ATLAS1310

The laser will be part of our ATLAS Wavelength Tunable lasers series. This means that it will come in a very compact form (the size of a deck of cards), fully integrated with no moving parts, enabling switching between wavelengths instantly. As the rest of the lasers in the same series, it will feature wide tunability, ultra-narrow linewidth, fast wavelength modulation & fiber coupled output. Get in contact with us to request the Preliminary Datasheet.

In addition to the upcoming 1310 nm release, Chilas will be available to discuss its broader range of lasers already deployed worldwide, including:

➤ ATLAS Wavelength Tunable Laser: 1550, 850, 1600, 1700, and 685 nm

➤ COMET C-band Swept Source Laser

➤ POLARIS Frequency-Stabilized C-band Laser
