Chilas releases POLARIS O-band: A single-frequency laser for the O-band
Enschede, The Netherlands, September 8th, 2026 – Chilas announces the official release of the POLARIS O-band, a single-frequency laser for the O-band. Development is complete, the product is available to order.
Following the release of ATLAS 1310 back in June of this year, we’re introducing its fixed-wavelength (single-frequency) counterpart: POLARIS O-band. Developed in response to demand for a stable, single-frequency source at 1310 nm, it brings the same frequency and power stability the POLARIS series is known for into the O-band.
POLARIS O-band offers ultra-low phase and intensity noise, excellent spectral purity, and long-term stability of both optical frequency and output power. Precisely configured to a required wavelength, it’s built for high-performance sensing and coherence-based applications.

Key Specifications & Early Results
- Center wavelength at 1310 nm
- Intrinsic linewidth ≤ 3 kHz
- Output Power ≥ 20 mW
- Low phase noise
- Compact module (85*47*14 mm), PM FC/APC output

Together, ATLAS 1310 and POLARIS O-band give you two ways to work at 1310 nm: wide tunability or fixed-frequency stability, depending on what your application calls for. Both will be on the stand at ECOC 2026, between 21-23 September in Malaga.
About Chilas lasers
POLARIS O-band is the latest addition to the POLARIS series: Chilas’ family of ultra stable single-frequency lasers. The series is built for applications demanding exceptional long-term stability, now extended into the O-band alongside its existing C-band offering. Alongside POLARIS, Chilas offers ATLAS, wavelength-tunable lasers covering wavelengths from 685 nm to 1700 nm across the red, 850 nm, C-band, C+L band, U-band, and O-band windows, and COMET, swept-source lasers covering the full C-band.
